Empowering Online Education Across Europe
E-FORCE (European Teacher Academy for Online Teaching and Learning) is a pioneering initiative aimed at equipping educators across Europe with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in online education. Rooted in the Erasmus+ Teacher Academies framework, the project brings together leading universities, teacher training centers and innovative schools to develop high-quality training for both pre-service and in-service teachers.
Through tailor-made “Teach-the-Teacher” (TTT) programmes, E-FORCE supports educators at all levels—early childhood, primary, and secondary—in mastering both asynchronous and synchronous online teaching. We focus on inclusivity, mobility, and professional collaboration to ensure a future-ready teaching workforce in a digitally connected Europe.
TTT programmes
Developed for Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary education, these programmes will train teachers in both synchronous and asynchronous online teaching, ensuring they are confident and competent in digital education.
Participating teachers
Throughout the project, over 350 pre-service and in-service teachers across Europe will engage in E-FORCE learning activities, gaining practical skills and micro-credentials to support their professional growth.
Community members
E-FORCE is building a pan-European community of educators, trainers, and policymakers who exchange knowledge, share best practices, and co-create the future of online education.
Why E-FORCE?
The shift to online and blended learning is not a trend—it’s a fundamental transformation in education. Yet many teachers across Europe still feel underprepared to teach effectively in digital environments. The COVID-19 pandemic made this clear, exposing gaps in teacher training, school readiness, and national strategies for digital education.
E-FORCE was created to bridge these gaps. We aim to strengthen the digital teaching competences of both pre-service and in-service teachers across early childhood, primary, and secondary education. But we go further: E-FORCE also supports schools and education systems in building the capacity and strategies needed to embrace online teaching as a permanent and inclusive part of education.
Together, we’re redefining the future of education in Europe.
