Autumn is in the air and the E-FORCE project is moving forward!
We’ve already taken the first steps to identify current key challenges, emerging needs, and recognised good practices in online education among teachers. The focus of Work Package 2 is to gain meaningful insights into teachers’ perspectives and experiences with online teaching, to collect methods that have worked well in practice, and to highlight areas where further professional development is needed. These findings will serve as the foundation for designing future training programmes that truly respond to the needs of educators – from early childhood education all the way to secondary education.
To gather these insights directly from teachers, we’ve launched an online survey. In this survey, we invite teachers to share their current experiences, beliefs, needs, and challenges related to online teaching. The survey is open until 30th September, and we warmly encourage participation from educators across all levels. In addition to the survey, we’ve involved teachers in workshops and facilitated discussions around online teaching: What’s already working? What would help us feel more confident teaching online? What factors should be considered when implementing online teaching at each level of education?
Speaking from personal experience, I have a background as a primary school teacher and went through the rapid shift of moving all my teaching online within just a couple of days – without any prior experience – during the COVID-19 pandemic. I imagine many teachers share the feeling that more support and preparation are needed for successful online teaching!
We look forward to taking a closer look at teachers’ perceptions and continuing the discussion while collecting good practices in online teaching. We’re also excited to involve teachers from our partner schools in the design and piloting of future professional development programmes.
Through shared experiences and ideas, we can evolve online education together. Let’s keep the conversation going—I’m excited about what we’ll create.
